| Our vision: |
| CSC Europe is a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) consisting of a number of companies and institutions sharing objectives on all aspects of the generation, publishing, use and preservation of digital information in general. Cultural Heritage is one of the particular domains that is covered. The realisation of the objectives is carried out through the offering of ervices, initiating and carrying out of projects and specific initiatives, all this via appropriate membership types. |

| Primal Objective: |
| (1) The primal target of the
CSC EEIG is to develop and promote
a set of cultural service centres throughout Europe providing
services dedicated to cultural heritage and related organisations.
These centres will operate by networking their services, repositories
and technical infrastructure. This aim will be reached by means
of research, promotion and the development of new concepts,
services and products for the digitisation, wide-spread circulation
and establishment of cultural heritage networks. |

| Further Purpose: |
(2) The purpose of the Cultural
Service Centre Europe EEIG is to assist its Members in:
building and maintaining a distributed REGNET European Digital
Library of multimedia resources documenting works of art and
culture;
achieving a critical mass of digital or physical goods to be
promoted through the REGNET portal;
enabling the trading services/products to be offered and sold
on-line through its e-Business infrastructure. |

| The offered data services dedicated to the topics
content engineering, database management, knowledge management
and international project coordination are open also to other
communities than cultural. |
